Visits To Goat Farm & Zoo With Cousins

We woke up early this morning to get ready for today outing together with my sister family. We set off to our first itinerary - goat farm at Lim Chu Kang after our big M breakfast. We must reached there early in order that not to miss the live goat milking session. Our Little Darling has been there many times but my nephews have not gone before. We parked our cars at the main roadside because carpark and the small road were full with vehicles. When we reached the farm, as usual the farm owner was busy explained to audiences while his workers were busy collecting goat milk.

My nephews were so excited and keen to experience goat feeding. They bought dried grass and proceed to goat bahn. May be we have been there many times, Little Darling treated those goats and lambs as friends, he touched their heads and horns! He fed goats and little lambs as well when he saw his cousins doing so!

We headed for zoo after goat farm visit. As expected, Little Darling refused to sit on stroller. Hb and me got to take turns to carry him. He made ‘hmm hmm…Meh meh…..’ kind of weird sound when see those animal that he saw before in the books. He was very excited the whole morning like his energy will never end!

But he dozed off when we were waiting to watch polar bear feeding at 1:30pm. First time I saw he slept so deep as he is a light sleeper, must be very tired!

After 15 minutes nap, he turned into dragon again! Look around happily and made all kinds of sound as if he knows to communicate with those animals! We decided to go home at about 5pm though my nephews intend to stay longer! Kids were enjoying very much but we adults were exhausted! I have no more strength to carry Little Darling, no more energy to walk, I dragged my body to our car but still have to attain to the energetic baby!

Learn To Crawl

We spent our weekend at my mum's place. During conversation, my mum raised her concern about Little Darling’s crawling development. He is turning 9 months old two days later yet he has no intention of learning to crawl. My mum advised me lessen carrying this koala but let him moving around on the floor, allow him to explore and learn. Many people told me that is common that some babies skipped crawling and directly proceed to learn standing and walking but I still worried and feel uncomfortable if he really skip this milestone.

My concern was crawling is a very good motor skill that involved balancing and coordination between hands and knees. If not crawl but at least must creeping or scooting. I worried that skipped this motor development might have any negative impact on his other learning development in future although there is no strong scientific proven now!

I decided to teach him to crawl. I placed him on the crawling position and demonstrated him way of crawling. I encouraged him to follow. I placed apples, strawberries, bears, books all kinds of his favorite stuff few steps away from him to attract him to crawl or creep forward. One hour later, other then cried, he stayed put at the same point without any progress. He tried to sit down few times but I reinstated him back to crawling position and keep encouraged him to crawl.

Two hours later, I was furious and exhausted but I would not give up. Little Darling must crawls a few steps before I could call it a day. He has weeped for hours, tears, mucus, saliva, sweat were mixed up and fully covered his little face. He started to move, dragged his legs forward one step and lied down. I encouraged him to move another side of leg instead lied down. Our Little Darling is great! He moved about one meter in the next one hour! I was very happy with his performance, I praised and told him that we will practice again the following day till he can crawl.

Later on, I realized that his two little feet were wounded bacause of rubbed against the floor. My heart was aching and full with remorseful about my dogged and stupidness to let him practice on floor which was so hard! Our precious Little Darling must felt extremely painful and tiring after the three hours training, he took a very long nap in the afternoon.

I could not be bore to make him to practice in the following few days till his wounds were healed.

I learned from lesson, I set our training ground on a playmatt instead. Our brave warrior did much better this round! He could crawled one meter in twenty-give minutes! Great improvement though still lack of balancing and coordination. I strongly believed and have faith that our Little Darling would be able to crawl very well soon! I was so proud with his determination and adventurous spirit! :-)

1st Two Pearlie Whites Sprouting Out

15 May 2007

Our Little Darling was very cranky, saliva dripped very often and liked to bite his toys since the last two weeks, on off he has diarrhea and body temperature slightly high. Our PD said that was fine as long as fever not shoot up more then 37.5 deg C. This could be part of his teething symptoms!

Many babies having their first tooth when they were 7 or 8 months old. Our Little Darling has only one white mark at the bottom gum when he was turning to 9 months old.

This morning when I was wiping his mouth, noticed that the bottom right-center pearlie white is sprouting out a bit while there is a white marking at the bottom left-center. Means the first two pearlie whites are sprouting out soon! Hope Little Darling’s pearlie whites growing out fast so that he can enjoys more yummy yummy solid food! :-P
