Mummy Had A Great Fall!

We were at my mum place this weekend. I was irritated with some rubbish in the garden, after picked them up to throw into dustbin and walked out, I fell down and sprained my left foot! It was very painful and I couldn’t stand up immediately after the fall. Little Darling who was standing at the gate cried and kept calling 'Mummy! Mummy!' when he saw me fall. I told him to get daddy or grandma to help me up but he just standing there crying! I thought it was too sudden and he was frightened.

During this hour, my family members were either busy in the kitchen or watching television in the living room or maybe upstairs at the second floor, so no one heard Little Darling cry. No choice, I had to tolerate with the pain and tried to console Little Darling. Few minutes later, I tried to stand up by myself and walked limping back into house with Little Darling.

Luckily I was not carrying him at the time….. or else wonder what unthinkable would be!

18 Months Old Toddler

Little Darling is an 18 months toddler now! Who would not take instructions, not listen to daddy and mummy, no matter what is the matter or occasion or where we are, he has his own opinion and would insist on it! He would scream and twist and turn (if we are carrying him) or he would stay put where he is till we give way! Our ‘young toddler’ is very different from others! He is very stubborn and mischievous! Daddy and mummy really have a hard time handling him when he throws tantrum!

He is considered to be of average size in his age. He is 83cm height and 12.9kg. He can run fast and steady. He likes to climb up staircases but does not know how to go down. We would get exhausted each time we go back to my mum place, from looking after him climbimg non-stop up and down!

He is a talkactive little boy! He would non-stop blabbering ‘jie jie’, ‘gor gor’, ‘yi yi’, ‘daddy’, mummy’ etc. He mean where are where are all these people!? And I have to answer him or else he would throw temper! He likes to point on our face and say’ nose, ears, hair etc’ and he has got them all correct! He likes people praise him, will return you a sweet smiles if you praise him! :-)

Everytime after dinner, he would say ‘Mummy, walk, walk!’ meaning-asking mummy bring him for a stroll downstairs. But he would want to swim when go near the pool!

When he is sleepy, he would ask for milk. When I give him milk he would say “bed,bed”-Meaning go to bed to drink his milk!

Brought him for his 18th month jab this morning, He said ‘poke, poke’ when he saw our PD walking into the room. Our PD was amazed with his high pain-threshold. He just kicked did not cry when the needle was poking into his freshy tight! Our PD was surprised that he knew so many parts of the body when he read for him to point at! Our PD also praised him that he is a well-trained baby as he would shake hands, Hi-five with him and waive and flying- kiss him when we were leaving!

He can be very sweet! He likes to say ‘ Mummy, hug hug’! or ‘Dad dad, hug hug’! and he will hug us tight! :-)

The only worry is that he doesn’t understand Chinese and he refused to learn. Whenever I talk to him in Mandarin, he would throw temper or answer all questions with ‘ hao!’ even if I ask ‘打你的屁股好吗?, he will say ‘hao’! But he will quickily say no no no when I translated to him! Sigh! I had started to speak Chinese and followed by translate to English for him. Hope he can pick up Chinese one of these days!

恭喜发财! 新年快乐!

Gong Xi Gong Xi! Happy New Year! We woke up late on the first day of Chinese New Year! After bath and breakfast it was almost lunch time! We visited my in-laws before going back to my mum house.

There were so crowded at my mum house. All my sisters, borther-in-laws, nephews and nieces were at home! Little Darling received a lot of ang pows and of course daddy and mummy given away a lot of ang pows too! :-P

We planned to stay at my mum house till Sunday afternoon, so that Little Darling had more time to play with gor gors, jie jies and di di!

Besides my own siblings, we did not have many visitors this year. Based on Chinese customs, my mum and my sisters should not visit relatives or friends this year as we had lost our father early last year!

Lunar New Year Eve

In the past few weeks, Little Darling has been doing the gesture of Gong Xi Gong Xi whenever he heard the New Year songs. Time flies and today is Lunar New Year Eve! Only Little Darling and I were at home in the morning while daddy had to work half day in the morning. I was quite free other than having to tidy up our living room and bedroom and I did not have to prepare food for reunion dinner as we were going to have it at my in-laws house.

We reached my in-laws house at about 7.30pm with all other family members waiting for us to start the reunion dinner. This was first time Little Darling eating together with us, last year he was too small to eat solid food! The family seemed overwhelmed with the little one! Everybody was busy attending to him with all kinds of delicious food and he was busy knocking table, tossing and flipping fork and spoon and blabbering in his baby language while he was munching food.

We spent about two hours at in-laws house before rushing off to have our car washed (a Chinese custom) in time for the New Year! Wow! It was a long queue as too many people were doing the same! While the car was being washed, Little Darling was shocked when soup and water was splashed onto our car windows! It must have been that he thought the soup and water were going to get to him! But he enjoyed watching those men rub our car with spongue and soup!

It was over 10pm when we reached home. I was busy in the kitchen preparing some of the stuff for tomorrow morning desserts and left Little Darling with daddy. ‘Clang!’……. Something break! My ‘Red Door’ perfume gone! Little Darling picked it from my display cabinet and daddy let him play with it, as usual he just threw it away after playing with it. In an instance, the living room was full with perfume smell and glass splinsters. Daddy fumed and gve him a dressing down. We have been telling him not to throw things yet he sticks to his bad habit! Daddy had to do the cleaning up a few times and still found tiny pieces of glass. The smell lingered! Hahaha… Guess this was the busiest New Year eve daddy ever had! :-D
