Stubborn Two Years Old Boy

It seemed like the weather was pretty good this morning. It was warm and sunny. We quickly set off to Sentosa after checking-out from Conrad.

First, we stopped at the Imbiah area for the Sentosa Luge and Skyride. We each picked up our helmets and joined the super long queue for the Luge. While queuing, we spent more than 15 minutes fighting with The Little Two Year Old to put the helmet on him. He kept screaming ‘Don’t want helmet!’ Finally was our turn to go yet he still refused to have the helmet on. The staff at the gate chipped in to help us persuading him for another 5 min but to no avail. In order not to jam up the queue, we stood aside to continue with our efforts to persuade him. Can you imagine spending half an hour arguing with the little boy about putting on a helmet! Gosh!

We had to proceed to sit on the luge and hoped that by now he would relent; unfortunately he did not, we had to resort to putting the helmet on him forcibly with the help from the staff there. Guess what? He took it out and insisted he “don’t want helmet!” Soft and hard approaches all failed yet the staff would not allow us to ride without helmet! Mummy was left with no choice but to use force again! Put the helmet on him and held down both his hands. After started to move the luge a bit, do you know what happen next? He kept still and volunteered to help mummy ‘drive’! Hahaha….. He liked it so much and enjoyed the journey all the way till the end point that he totally forgot about helmet! Aiyoh!

Guess what happened after that? He refused to come out from the luge at the end of the game, he asked for more! This time the argument was settled quite swiftly – by a staff member who just carried him out from the luge! This boy! This boy! I really do not know how to describe him!

Next we continued to The Skyride. Mummy has height phobia and that made mummy very tense. I really hoped Little Darling would not move or create trouble half way of the ride. He was a good boy during the entire ride. I did not know whether he did enjoy the ride very much or he was scared stiff. After that he kept asking for another luge ride, before we get tickets for another ride, it started to rain again.

The weather did not turn good even after our lunch meal. We spent an hour walking at the sheltered area near to The Merlion. Our Little Darling is really sweet when he is a good boy. Mummy heartpain he walked too long and worried he might too tired and offered to carry him. Less then five minutes carrying him, he volunteer to walk saying ‘Mummy tired, Darling walk walk!” Heart melts right?

We thought of pampering our feet to a luxurous foot spa. But too bad there was a long queue at the foot spa and no available slot till after 5.30pm. We decided to go home as we could not do much things in the wet weather.

Two Years Old Milestones

We brought Little Darling to our PD for his 2 years old review yesterday. We were very happy and our PD was satisfied with Little Darling’s development:- 2 years old toddler! He is happy, healthy, jovial, active, energetic, witty and a fast learner. He can do many things beyond his age and better than kids at that age…… Of course he has a lot of weaknesses like being stubborn, mischievous, naughty, disobedient, head-strong, etc.

At 2 years old, he is on the plump side, 89cm, 14.8kg but he is flexible, dynamic and lively, he can do all of the following:-

1. Recognise and speak A to Z, 1 to 30; write 0,1,2,3,7

2. Speak sentences of more than 5 words. Eg: “Darling follow mummy go fetch daddy home.”

3. Construct short stories without proper verbs or grammar like “Darling good boy. Daddy mummy saying Darling, love Darling, hug Darling, kiss Darling.” “ Daddy naughty close the door. Mummy take key open door. Darling go in.” (hehehe… he wants to open our bedroom door to disturb daddy who was napping)

4. Jump more then 10cm height without support.

5. recognize a face with name and using sentences to describe an event associate to that person. Eg: Luis cry cry in the class.

6. Pick up new things very fast. Recited a book with simple sentences like 'one Emer is smiling, two corcodile are laughing. three tigers are dancing....'

7. Can solve complicated maths quiz using dot cards.

8. Sing songs with actions --- few lines of lyrics: ‘I love you…. (by Barney), “Twinkle Twinkle little star’, ‘Baa baa black sheep’ The dog in the yard…. (Animal Song)

9. Dance.

10. know daddy and mummy's names and professions and claim that himself is a doctor! :-)

11. and many others…………. Will update as when I recall.

He is capable of a lot of naughty stuffs too:-

1. Playing with telephone. He has spoilt 3 or 4 sets of telephone. He would lift up handset and start to dial number and pretend to talk to people.

2. Playing with handphone. Once got his hand on a handphone, he would start to key in a lot of nonsense in the memory and send out nonsense messages. Because of this, mummy has apologized many times to friends because of his junk messages.

3. Like to describe himself as bad boy.

4. Doing things opposite to what he is taught like climbing up sofa and tables to provoke daddy on purpose. But he will worry if mummy gets angry. When mummy gets angry, he will console mummy saying ‘Mummy, sayang Darling, hug hug Darling, Kiss Kiss Darling!” He will continue to plead till I do what he says, which to him, means that mummy has forgiven him.

5. Screaming as loud as he can just for nothing.

6. Refusing to use potty.

7. Refusing to learn Chinese and speak Chinese in an accent like other races speak Chinese. Mummy will burst out laughing when hears him reciting ‘san zi jing’ (partial).

8. and many too………. Update as when I recall.

Little Darling is Two

Little Darling turns Two today!

It started to rain early in the morning and looked like it would not stopped soon. After bath, we went to fetch xiao yi for lunch together at The Disney Natural. Our Little Birthday Boy enjoyed the ambience so much. He was so happy seeing Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Mickey, Minnie etc and so many colourful balloons in the restaurant.

A sporting young waiter came to sing him a birthday song and gave him a complimentary ice-cream and a balloon.

Since it was so wet everywhere, we suggested to check-in the hotel first then planned for the next move. Mummy’s motto is ‘The best thing to do in a raining day is to check-in a hotel to sleep!’ :-)

After an hour plus wait, the weather did not look like it was to turn sunny any time soon, so we let Little Darling nap and so we did.

It was still drizzling in the evening. In spite of that there was a large turnout for the fireworks performance at the Marina by Korean team tonight. We walked to Marina with an umbrella over Little Darling and waited there for an hour before the fireworks started. Little Darling was pretty grounchy, created much trouble to mummy. Perhaps he was too boring to keep still. Mummy was worried that his patience might run out even before the firework started. But you know what? He became so disciplined and quiet the moment the fireworks started till the end of the show. Little Darling must have been overawed by the magnificent display in the sky and the loud exploding sounds of the fireworks. He kept still for the whole session without giving us any problem.

We went for a seafood and frog-leg supper after the fireworks performance. Back to Conrad at 1am+++, Little Darling dozed off immediately when he landed on the bed!

Look! How Much Has Our 宝贝 Changed?

Wow! Little Darling’s looks changed a lot when compared with that during his new born times!
