Mummy's Birthday

Today is mummy's most memorable birthday! It was a quiet and peaceful day solely for Little Darling and mummy. No party! No dinner! No flowers! No gift and no birthday cake & song! As usual, daddy went to work early in the morning and reached home only after 10pm.

As our routine daily greeting, mummy kissed Little Darling after his morning bath. This morning mummy specially requested Little Darling to give mummy a kiss and surprising that mummy received the greatest present from Little Darling – a wet kiss! This was first time he kissed me and he continued to kiss me another few more times after that! Looks like he knew that today is a special day to mummy yet daddy was too busy to company us! Thus, he rewarded mummy with lots of love! I was touched by his heart warming gesture! My eyes full with tears and hug him tight in my arm! Thank you very much Little Darling! Mummy Love you! Muack! Muack! Muack!

Little Darling 11 Months Old

Our Little Darling turns 11 months old today! Time flies, next month he will blow his first birthday cake candle liao! Yeah yeah yeah…..

Sometimes he is lovely and witty; he would clap hands when he is happy, gets to eat things he likes, when we praise him, sing him his favorite songs or during singing session in his SM class; he would also observe and follow the teacher’s hand movement in class.

Sometimes he is very stubborn and mischievous. He likes to snatch daddy and mummy’s spectacles though he knows he would get a smacking on his buttock after that. He will show us that hand he has snatched our spectacles when asked which is his itchy hand.

Whether yes or no, he would shake his head, no difference… hahahaha… he is very fun but now and then he drive mummy crazy especially when he throw tantrums, refuse to play on his own but want to cling onto mummy like superglue. And he would turn a deaf ear to calls to lie down and keep still when putting on diaper, it is like me fighting battle with him!

His favorite toy is bear! He called all teddy bears and Winnie The Pooh as 'ah bear bear'! :-)

These few days he is learning to stand unaided for few seconds. Yet I doubt he is ready to proceed to next stage i.e.walking, soon! Just because he is a lazy lazy baby!

Fake Measles

10 July 2007

I was shocked when bathing Little Darling this morning because there were rashes (many tiny red spots) on his stomach and forehead. More rashes but fever subsided when I checked again at 10.30am. I was wondering if it was dengue so quickly we sent him to our pediatrician (PD). PD said he was having fake measles which would fade away latest by Saturday. Little Darling looked very tired. He was in no mood to play or smile. He slept the whole afternoon; on and off he awoke crying.

13 July 2007

Rashes faded and Little Darling’s appetite was recovering. He started to eat some porridge.

16 July 2007

Second shock! Little Darling’s cheeks, chest, back, hands and legs were full with rashes! Other than this, no fever. Again fake measles was back! This round more rashes, rashes appeared in areas that were not previously covered. My mum said this could be due to residue virus from the previous round, re-imerged after ‘liang cha’ Little Darling had yesterday!

17 July 2007
Not much changes. Little Darling was sad, he no longer pulled a wide smile when seeing himself in the mirror, he made funny faces instead. I felt a pang of heart-ache but I could do anything to help him. How I wished I could be sick in his place.

18 July 2007
The rashes had subsided. I hoped Little Darling had fully recovered from ‘fake measles’ …… sigh! He had lost weight as a result of not eating well in the past two weeks!

Our Little Darling Fall Sick

08 July 2007

Little Darling has no appetite during dinnertime, he looks very tired and having a bit fever. I worried that he might fall sick so started to monitor his temperature hourly. Temperature was shooting up to 38 deg C when I took at 11:35pm. Daddy called up KKH 24hours clinic but told by the staff nurse that we have to wait for about 4 hours to see a doctor which means the earliest we can see a doctor will be at around 3am! We decided to gave our Little Darling some medicine and bring him to see our pediatrician the next day morning. Temperature was dropped to 37.3 deg C an hour later. I continued to monitor temperature after that. It was maintain at 37.5 deg C.

09 July 2007

We brought Little Darling to our pediatrician clinic first thing early in the morning. On the way, his temperature was shooting up to 38.5 deg C. I wiped his body with ice water and put a wet towel on his forehead.

Little Darling was diagnosed that having throat infection. Our pediatrician wanted me to monitor his temperature hourly after taking medicine. Little Darling has no appetite for lunch and dinner, drank very little milk as well. He was extremely tired and sleeping the whole day. Temperatures were subsided after medicine and rose up 4 hours later till next medicine time.

At night, Our Little Darling must felt very uncomfortable because he could not sleep well. He kept flipped left and right and cried many times in the night. Luckily his temperatures was 37.3 deg C when I just taken at 4.10am.

Daddy's Birthday

Today is daddy’s birthday. We intended to spend this special day peacefully and exclusively among the three of us in the family, this being the first time Little Darling joined in celebrating Daddy's birthday!

We brought Little Darling to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve in the late afternoon. We put him on the stroller and pushed him up the steep concrete pavement. It was indeed an uphill task as Daddy was tired from the swim. We have to stop halfway up as we reckoned we would not have enough stamina to carry him all the way up, mindful that we have to carry him down after that.

He looked around but did not seem to enjoy much. We found out only later that indeed he was hungry! Anyway our purpose has been met, i.e. to let him have more exposure with nature and at the same time catch some fresh air!
