Lunar New Year Eve

In the past few weeks, Little Darling has been doing the gesture of Gong Xi Gong Xi whenever he heard the New Year songs. Time flies and today is Lunar New Year Eve! Only Little Darling and I were at home in the morning while daddy had to work half day in the morning. I was quite free other than having to tidy up our living room and bedroom and I did not have to prepare food for reunion dinner as we were going to have it at my in-laws house.

We reached my in-laws house at about 7.30pm with all other family members waiting for us to start the reunion dinner. This was first time Little Darling eating together with us, last year he was too small to eat solid food! The family seemed overwhelmed with the little one! Everybody was busy attending to him with all kinds of delicious food and he was busy knocking table, tossing and flipping fork and spoon and blabbering in his baby language while he was munching food.

We spent about two hours at in-laws house before rushing off to have our car washed (a Chinese custom) in time for the New Year! Wow! It was a long queue as too many people were doing the same! While the car was being washed, Little Darling was shocked when soup and water was splashed onto our car windows! It must have been that he thought the soup and water were going to get to him! But he enjoyed watching those men rub our car with spongue and soup!

It was over 10pm when we reached home. I was busy in the kitchen preparing some of the stuff for tomorrow morning desserts and left Little Darling with daddy. ‘Clang!’……. Something break! My ‘Red Door’ perfume gone! Little Darling picked it from my display cabinet and daddy let him play with it, as usual he just threw it away after playing with it. In an instance, the living room was full with perfume smell and glass splinsters. Daddy fumed and gve him a dressing down. We have been telling him not to throw things yet he sticks to his bad habit! Daddy had to do the cleaning up a few times and still found tiny pieces of glass. The smell lingered! Hahaha… Guess this was the busiest New Year eve daddy ever had! :-D
