This diary is written by daddy and mummy for our Little Darling. We would like to capture all precious and wonderful moments that we spend together with our Little Darling. As Little Darling grows up to become Darling then a gentleman, he can always come to this blog to read and share with daddy and mummy's greatest joy! Daddy and mummy would relive these precious memories one day while swinging on rocking chairs. ;-D ;-D
27.01.08 Sunday
We woke up at 5.10am this morning. I was a bit worried as this was the first time we travelled with Little Darling by coach. Little one still slept soundly when we were busy changing and preparing to set off. I woke him up at 5.40am to change. He turned alert immediately when we told him we were going ‘gai gai’! :-)
There were already many people waiting at the desinated waiting point! We were heading to secondlink at 6.20am after all passengers were on board.
I was glad that Little Darling fell asleep after we cleared Malaysia immigration check point. He was woken up after only a 45minutes nap by the tour guide’s speaker! Headache! He started to ‘find fault’ with mummy. He twisted and turned shouting and screaming. We tried to distract him with toys, songs, nursery rhymes, games and scenery on our journey. No effect with all these soft approaches! We used threats instead! Despite numerous warning from daddy and mummy, he simply couldn’t sit tight! I gave up and started to feed him with all kinds of junk food and titbits to calm him down. We were exhausted and half dead, began to wonder why the journey was so far and it had taken so long!
Phew! Finally, we were at the First World Hotel bus terminal at 1.30pm. Little Darling enjoyed himself very much in the cool climate! He smiled and sucked in cool air hard! He was so adorable when he touched our faces with his little palms showing that he felt cold! That was totally two different characters comparing him now with the little devil on the coach!
We went for a quick bite after checking in hotel. I would like to let him catch some nap and let daddy and mummy rest before bringing him to the theme park! He had taken a four hours’ nap when we woke him up!
It was a long walk through the corridor from our hotel to the Theme Park. The surrounding was misty and it was very cold and windy. Little Darling was very excited with all the cool air around! He was quite bold and mischievous! He kept asking daddy to carry him and refused to walk or he would just stay put or keeping a far distance (5-6 meters) from us when we insisted he had to walk by himself. There were so many tourists looking and laughing at him yet he totally ignored them and took his own sweet time trailing behind us. I had to take my hat off to him!
After dinner, daddy and Little Darling enjoying all the indoor activities very much while I became their photographer! Again and again he asked to ride on carousel, Marry-go-a-round etc and refused to stop. We had to pull him back to room when it was almost 12 midnight.
28.01.08 Monday
We had late breakfast. Daddy and Little Darling went for their outdoor rides this morning while I was sitting indoor to wait for them back. I am a timid ‘old woman’! I have no courage to take all the excitement from the rides! Again he was very relunctant to stop though was suckling and napping time. But he fell asleep when I was feeding him. So daddy had some time to enjoy himself with all those rides! :-)
After dinner, we started our indoor games since I had not joined them before. But we put out of The Snow World owing to the admission rule that kids below 3 years old are prohibited from entering! What a shame! Again we missed the 4D Movies as the minimum height for kids to enter the theatrette was 107cm! Sigh! Ended-up daddy went in by himself and mummy accompanied Little Darling sleeping in the room!
29.01.08 Tuesday
We spent the whole morning walking around the themepark and the shopping mall. Little Darling was frightened by those horror masks displayed in a souvenier shop! We checked out from hotel after lunch. There was some time before our departure time from Genting Highlands at 1.30pm, so we rested at the resting area by the side of First World hotel lobby. There were tourists from Middle East countires and North India were asking to take photos with our Little Darling! It seemed incredible that he has got fans at this tender age! Hehe…… Little Darling has superstar charm, he is sociable and enjoys shooting with them as long as they do not touch or ask to carry him.
Little Darling fall asleep after his afternoon milk on the bus but woke up when we stopped at a souvenier shop! Luckily he fell asleep again when we boarded the bus heading south back to Singapore. Thank goodness! He slept all the way till we reached Secondlink checkpoint! Though my hands and legs were numb from carrying him, it was so much better than having to cope with his twist and turn! We reached our home sweet home at 8.40pm! :P
Daddy wanted to go holidays with Little Darling long time ago but mummy did not have the courage to do so. Mummy could foresee problems that we would encounter during the trip and Mummy had no confidence that we would be able to handle it well! We would be exhausted during the journey from carrying our Darling who is strong and hyper active yet always refused to walk by himself. Moreover we would have to carry a lot of stuff like hot water, milk powder, milk bottle, etc to cater for our Darling’s needs. More often than not, our Little Darling would have his own opinion and he would get angry and throw temper if he does not have his way. However we thought that we should not have major problems if going on a cruise or staying in a resort or on a free and easy trip to a nearby country! We can any time go back to our room if he wants to sleep or needs to feed.
Daddy had to clear leave before he left his current company and at the same time wanted some rest and recreation before he started his new job in February 2008! Daddy booked cruise to Malacca/KL early January and trip to Genting Highlands end January. We were very excited at the prospect of these tours as that was our first time we travelled together with Little Darling.
09.01.2008 Wednesday
We were almost the last one to board on the cruise at 10.30pm. We had barely settled our luggage in room when all on board were required to go for a fire drill.
We were pretty “blur” not knowing that moving from our room to other places we must went through the 7th floor and that the places were huge and confusing! Finally we got to the assembly at the deck area. We met many babies who were about our Darling’s age. After the drill we went for supper. It was about 12.10 midnight but Little Darling still looked energetic though he had skipped his nap in the afternoon. Guessed he knew that we were on holidays! J Little Darling was very sporting and sociable. He was a bit shy initially but after 1 minute warmup, he was enjoying himself shaking hands, playing Hi-Five, peek-a-boo, etc with waiters and waitress in the restaurant.
10.01.2008 Thursday
As usual, Little Darling woke up at 7am though we went to bed only at 1am in the wee hours of the morning. We let him enjoy seeing the sun rise through the window in our room while daddy and mummy took turns to have our morning baths. We decided to take International buffet breadfast where there is a Kids corner for kids to have their meal and mingle around. Again, Little Darling had no problem to mix with other kids and serving staff there. He enjoyed his bread and egg breadfast too. After breakfast, he walked around at the balcony and sat on the deck chair to enjoy sea breezes and magnificent sea view.
He was excited playing at the arcade. He liked the motorcycle and car rides. We had to drag him out from the place with him shouting, kicking and struggling.
I thought of leaving him in the childcare centre for maybe 1 or 2 hours. This was a good time to see if he could stay by himself without Daddy or Mummy by his side and then daddy and mummy could take a break. Who knows he was returned to us in less than ten minutes. According to the caretaker, he was walking around and kept screaming to protest his dissatisfaction whenever she stopped chatting or playing with him. There were some other kids in the childcare center. Little Darling was rejected by the caretaker as he is a possessive baby who need 100% attention!
After lunch, other passengers were busy alighting at Port Klang to go shopping and sight-seeing at Kuala Lumpur. Mummy decided to stay on board as 2pm is Little Darling’s nap time. Our dog tired darling slept soundly from 2pm till 5pm plus, when daddy woke him up to bring him to the pool.
We had an early night after dinner. Since Mummy had to stay with Little Darling in the room, Daddy went to watch the performances by himself.
11.01.08 Friday
Time seemed to fly, our 3days 2nights cruise to Malacca/KL came to an end! We reached Harbourfront at 2pm. Little Darling was super grouchy! He fell asleep on the way back home.
